According to the report, McClure was struck by a BCSO Deputy while trying to cross the street. The deputy involved had his or her dash cam on at the time of the crash which recorded everything. In the beginning of the video, it’s difficult to tell if the McClure was in the street before the vehicle approached him. However, as the video progresses, you can make out that a person is on the road. Within seconds, the deputy’s car slams into Brendan McClure.
Shortly after the crash, another emergency vehicle can be spotted on camera. Officers at the scene concluded that speed was not a factor in the crash. The Bernalillo County Sherrif’s Office is conducting an internal investigation into the crash and place the deputy on paid administrative leave. The Albuquerque Police are also investigating the crash and are taking the lead on the crash reconstruction. We will keep you updated as the investigation progresses and more information is released.
We offer our condolences to the family of Brendan McClure and hope they receive justice for their loss.
