Gallup Police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash on East Highway 66.
Officers with the Gallup Police Department responded to calls about a deceased woman off of Highway 66. After an unknown amount of time, officers arrived at the scene and began their investigation. The woman was identified as 32-year-old Emerald Heather Scott of Farmington, New Mexico. After a brief investigation, officers were able to determine Scott’s wounds were the result of being hit by a car.
Officers determined the vehicle that hit Scott left the scene without stopping to check on her. Police are now searching for the vehicle involved for charges of vehicular homicide. At this time, Gallup police don’t have any leads on the vehicle involved.
