Brent Bailey is from Albuquerque and he has been a lawyer in New Mexico for the last 25 years. He began his litigation career in 1992 with a local defense firm concentrating in the areas of insurance defense and commercial litigation. From 1995 through 2012, he enjoyed an active civil trial practice as an associate and then a shareholder in boutique litigation firms. He joined Will Ferguson and Associates in 2016. His practice focuses on representation of plaintiffs in personal injury, wrongful death, professional negligence and insurance matters. He is a member and past president of the New Mexico Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Bailey has worked as both an Adjunct Professor and a Visiting Professor of Law at the UNM School of Law. He teaches courses in Evidence and Trial Practice, and Taking and Defending Depositions. He has also worked closely with the law school’s National Mock Trial Team. Brent Bailey is a Certified Instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA). He has taught in NITA's trial and deposition training programs in New Mexico, California, Texas and New York.
Brent and his family like to take their boat out for water skiing and wakeboarding trips. Unfortunately, the Baileys are desert dwellers and their ski boat travels many more miles on its trailer than through the water. Over the years, they have learned to pass the time during long drives by telling tales and criticizing each other's taste in music.
