Farmington Police say Adolfo Gomez was killed in a crash at the intersection of West Aztec Blvd.
According to the report, Gomez was eastbound on W. Aztec Blvd on his scooter. At the intersection of W. Aztec and Swire Ave, Gomez’s scooter collided with an SUV that was westbound. The driver of the SUV was unharmed in the crash but tragically, 55-year-old Adolfo Gomez was killed. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and officially pronounced the Aztec resident deceased. Police at the scene determined the driver of the SUV was not impaired. Police are waiting for the toxicology report on Gomez to rule out impairment for him.
As of now, officers have not released an official cause of the crash. The crash is still under investigation and the Crash Reconstruction Unit will likely rule out all other factors. The identity of the driver of the SUV has not been released and did not receive a citation for the crash.
