Albuquerque Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that took place near Isleta Blvd.
The report didn’t offer much information about what led to the crash, but we know minor injuries were reported. Investigators believe the motorcyclist was going at a high rate of speed when he lost control. This caused him to veer from his lane and strike another vehicle. The impact of the crash forced both vehicles off the road and knocked down a street light. Although the crash was major, no life-threatening injuries were reported from the crash.
Officers at the scene conducted the investigation and ruled out impairment as a factor. As a result of the crash, the interchange of I-40 eastbound and I-25 southbound were both closed for a short period of time. Officers obtained statements from those involved and it appears neither driver will face criminal punishment for the crash. However, this may change in the following days as evidence is processed and released. The interchange of I-40 eastbound and I-25 southbound is now open, however, drivers are urged to be vigilant of motorcyclist and motorcyclists are urged to slow down. Stay tuned for more information regarding this crash.
