Albuquerque Police and Fire Crews responded to an accident at Coors and Irving.
The report was released through the official Twitter of the Albuquerque Police Department. Not much information is available at this time, but we know injuries were reported. Also, at least two vehicles were involved in the accident. The AFD declined to give an official cause of the crash and stated the Crash Reconstruction Unit will take over. Coors Blvd near Irving was blocked while injuries were treated and police took statements. Although injuries were reported, all parties involved were coherent enough to talk to police.
After speaking with both drivers involved, alcohol was ruled out as a factor in the crash. Also, it is likely neither driver will face punishment for the crash. Coors and Irving are reopened after the crash but drivers should expect some delays in the area. Everyone involved is happy they are able to walk away from the crash relatively okay. We will provide updates on the crash as they are released by the APD. Check back in a few days for followup information about this crash.
