Officers with the APD have reopened the westbound lanes of Coors and Central following a crash.
According to the report, the collision occurred around 6 a.m., near Central Ave. The crash involved a motorcycle and semi-truck and the road blocked for about an hour. Officers at the scene didn’t say what caused the crash because the investigation is still in its early stages. At this times, it’s believed the vehicles collided at the intersection of Coors and Central. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries and the semi driver was unharmed. There has been no word on the conditions of the drivers.
The semi-truck driver was still on the scene when officers arrived and gave a statement to officers. Since alcohol was not mentioned in the initial report, it was likely ruled out at the scene. However, investigators will do their job thoroughly to provide accurate evidence. The driver of the semi was allowed to leave the scene without punishment. We will keep you updated as the story changes with the motorcyclist’s condition and cause of the crash.
The westbound lanes of Coors and Central are now open but drivers are urged to be careful on their morning commute to work. We wish the motorcyclist a speedy recovery in his rehabilitation.
