Albuquerque police and the BSCO are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that involved two vehicles.
According to the report, a 57-year-old man was riding his motorcycle when he and another car collided. The driver of the other vehicle stayed at the scene and is believed to have called the authorities. Emergency personnel arrived a short time later and they set to work. Police blocked off the scene while they began their initial investigation and paramedics treated injuries. The 57-year-old motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital but sadly, his wounds were too severe. There was also a passenger on the motorcycle who was transported in serious but stable condition.
The condition of the driver in the second vehicle was not mentioned. However, the person was interviewed by police. At the scene, officers were able to conclude that alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash. The driver of the second vehicle was allowed to leave and there is no word if he will face punishment. However, this may change as the investigation proceeds. The identities of those involved are being held at this time and we will update you as information is released.
We offer our condolences to the family of the man slain in the crash. We hope they find the strength to move forward and honor his memory.
