David Galdamez is suing Santa Fe city government, police department and officer for negligence in serious crash.
The suit states that Officer Ladislas Szabo carelessly ran a red light near the intersection of Airport Rd. As the officer ran the light, he T-boned a car driven by Galdamez. The report didn’t say if the officer had his lights on or why he should have had them on. It is believe the cop attempted to abuse his power to avoid stopping at a light. Also, records show that the cop didn’t attempt to slow down before the collision.
Galdamez was seriously injured and it is believed that he will suffer pain for years to come. The lawsuits said Szabo failed to exercise reasonable caution when entering an intersection. Galdamez is suing for compensation for lost wages, mental and physical pain, and loss of his car. The case is in its early stages, but from the information available so far, it is likely his claim will be honored.
