Deputies with the Santa Fe Police Department are looking for the driver that hit two people in Madrid.
According to the report, a man attempted to start his vehicle by letting it roll down a hill. While going down the hill, police say the vehicle hit two men, one was autistic and the other was deaf. Witnesses told police that a bystander tried to pull one of the men out of the way, but was unsuccessful. Luckily, no life-threatening injuries were reported from the crash. The two men were taken to the hospital where they recovered.
Police at the scene were conducting an investigation into the crash. Witnesses told the Deputies that the driver of the pickup fled on foot after the crash. A description of the driver was not given, but they told police the direction he ran. The truck was described as a red-and-white Ford F-150. At this time, there is no information about the driver and police hope to have the matter resolved shortly. Check back in a few days for updates.
