The Los Alamos Police Department released a report about a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Diamond and Sandia.
The report stated that a red passenger vehicle attempted to make a left turn from Sandia onto Diamonds drive. While in the intersection, the red vehicle collided with a blue BMW. Both Los Alamos Fire and Police responded to the scene. Only minor injuries were sustained, but the report didn’t say which driver was injured. Officers also declined to give an official cause of the crash. Alcohol was not mentioned in the report and was likely ruled out in the crash.
Neither of the drivers involved was cited or arrested for their involvement in the crash. This may change as the investigation yields more information. The collision caused traffic to be backed up for miles in both directions on Sandia and Diamond. However, police, fire, and cleanup crews swiftly cleared the wreckage. The intersection is now open and both drivers involved are lucky to have their lives. Drivers are urged to use caution when navigating the intersections. Slow down and check your blind spots. We will keep you updated as the story develops.
