The Mejia family wants police to continue investigating the death of their son Jose Mejia.
The report says Jose died in a car accident last Monday after he lost control of his vehicle. Police determined the cause as dangerous speed and inattention, however, Jose’s family believe there had to be another factor. They believe Jose swerved to avoid another driver that caused the crash. While this may seem like wishful thinking, there are still a lot of questions unanswered by the initial investigation. Police did not release the details from the forensic experts about the moments before the collision. Also, after so many hit-and-run collisions in Oklahoma this year, the Mejia family’s argument does carry weight.
At this time, it is uncertain if the Mejia family’s plea has inspired police to take their case, but this could change in the following days. Jose Mejia’s vehicle hit a curb and rolled several times before coming to a rest. If his vehicle was affected by another driver, it may take a long time for experts to reconstruct the car. We offer our condolences to the Mejia family and hope they will obtain justice for their loved one.
