Officers with the Albuquerque Police say a motorcyclist is in critical condition after a crash with a car.
The report stated the crash took place at the intersection of Coors and Western Trail, however, it’s unclear what caused the crash. We know the southbound lanes of Coors was closed due to the crash and was open for travel within the hour. Police at the scene conducted the investigation while paramedics treated the motorcyclist. After brief treatment by EMTs, the motorcyclist was taken to University of New Mexico Hospital in critical condition.
The crash is still under investigation and as of now, the driver of the car isn’t facing punishment. Since alcohol wasn’t mentioned in the crash, it was likely ruled out by officers at the scene. The driver of the passenger vehicle was not injured in the crash and gave their statement to police. The southbound lanes of Coors are now open for travel, but drivers are urged to be careful of motorcyclists on the roadway. We will provide updates to the story as they are released by the APD.
We hope the motorcyclist injured pulls through and regains a better life post-crash.
