Albuquerque police released a report about a collision between a motorcycle and car on Alameda and 2nd Street.
According to the report, the motorcyclist and the car both attempted to enter the intersection and collided after one of the involved parties lost control of their vehicle. It is believed that the car lost control after he noticed that he was about to collide with the motorcyclist. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough time to avoid the crash and the results were devastating. The motorcyclist was tossed from his bike by at least 6 feet before coming to a rest. The driver of the car was unharmed after the crash and stayed until emergency personnel arrived.
The motorcyclist was treated at the scene and taken to a local hospital where he was treated. Authorities have not finished the investigation, it will likely take time before an official cause is determined. Neither of the drivers smelled of alcohol, but police were not able to rule out impairment as a factor. The motorcyclist wasn’t wearing a helmet and he is lucky to escape with his life.
