Deputies with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office released a report about a fatal pedestrian crash.
The report stated a person was hit by two vehicles near Second Street and Rio Bravo Blvd. Emergency rushed to the scene after receiving calls from those involved and drivers passing the wreckage. When paramedics arrived, they pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. One of the drivers also sustained injuries in the crash was checked out by paramedics. The report didn’t say if the driver was taken to the hospital.
While police and medical personnel were working on the scene, both directions of travel from Woodward to Rossmoor was closed. This lasted for about an hour and is now open for travel. Both drivers gave a statement to police, but what was said was not released to the public. Neither of the drivers appeared to be intoxicated while talking to police and was allowed to leave the scene. The person who was killed has not been identified and the driver’s names were not released because they are not being charged. If the situation changes, we will provide updates.
