Officers with the Albuquerque Police released a report about a two-vehicle collision that took place on I-25.
The report stated that two cars collided in the northbound lanes of I-25 near Avenida. Investigators at the scene were not able to provide an official cause at the scene of the crash. However, alcohol was likely ruled out at the scene. The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time but at least one person was transported to the hospital. As a result of the crash, the two center lanes of I-25 were blocked causing a delay of at least 5 minutes. However, cleanup crews were quick to clear the wreckage.
At this time, the crash is under investigation and neither driver is facing punishment for the crash. Criminal charges will most likely not be pressed but a civil suit is available. We will keep you updated if names and interesting developments arise when evidence is processed. Drivers are urged to use caution on I-25 and slow down.
