One person is injured after a collision on San Mateo near Menaul.
The APD released a report about the accident which involved two vehicles leaving one person injured. The report didn’t say the severity of the injuries, however, EMTs were present at the scene. All parties involved were coherent when officers arrived and gave them statements. San Mateo and Menaul where partially blocked while officers at the scene conducted their investigation. At this time, authorities weren’t able to determine who was at fault. There were no witnesses at the scene to provide an outside view so both drivers will not face criminal charges.
Alcohol and malicious intent were both ruled out during the initial investigation. However, speed or inattention could have been factors. As the evidence collected at the scene is processed and released, the APD will provide updates. Albuquerque Fire crews were also at the scene, but the report didn’t say whether one of the drivers needed extraction. The following days will bring more information, check back for new details on this story.
