Taos Police released a report about an accident involving two bicyclists and a car.
According to the report, the crash took place on Paseo del Pueblo Norte around 4 p.m. Emergency quickly responded to the scene and took a report from those involved. At least one of the bicyclists were injured as a result of the crash and was taken to the hospital. The crash didn’t say who was injured or how severe the injuries were, however, we know they were non-life threatening. It’s unclear if the injured bicyclist gave their statement to police at the scene.
The crash is still under investigation, but at this time, no criminal charges have been filed. It will likely stay this way and the matter will be settled in civil court. Alcohol was not mentioned in the initial report so it was likely ruled out at the scene. The person who was injured has since been released from the hospital. There is no further information about this crash and we will provide updates as they are released in the following weeks.
Drivers are urged to be vigilant of bicyclists on the road and use caution at intersections.
