Albuquerque police released a report via Twitter about an injury accident that took place on I-40.
According to the report, the collision took place in the westbound lanes of I-40 near 4th. As a result of the crash, the inside westbound lanes of I-40 was blocked while police worked at the scene. Injuries were reported in the crash, however, the report didn’t state who was injured. Also, the report didn’t say how serious the injuries were. In addition to police and fire crews, EMTs were also at the scene to treat the injuries. At least one person was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
The crash is now under investigation and police have yet to provide an official cause of the crash. Neither driver was identified for privacy reasons and it’s also likely neither will face punishment for the crash. This possibly can change as evidence is processed and released. The westbound lanes of I-40 are now open for travel and police urge drivers to slow down and be cautious. Check back for more updates on the crash.
