Clovis police are investigating an assault with a vehicle that left two people injured.
According to the report, someone called the police to alert them of two people fighting and one person bleeding on the ground. When officers arrived at the scene, they observed a man named Paul Apodaca on the ground bleeding from his head. Also, the saw a 16-year old boy and a man named Isaac Sena arguing. Police separated the two and began addressing the situation. While this was going on, paramedics rushed to the scene to treat the injuries that were reported.
Witnesses who were there when officers arrived also gave statements to police. One witness stated the confrontation initially started at a parking lot near Wallace and Llano Estacado. The witness told police that a vehicle with Paul Apodaca and that 16-year-old along with a 14-year-old beat up Isaac Sena. Sena then followed the assailants and witnesses followed. When they caught up with the frenzy, Apodaca and the 16-year-old were beneath Sena’s car.
Witnesses called the police and emergency personnel to the 3100 blk of Gidding Street. Paul Apodaca was taken to a hospital in Lubbock in critical condition. The 16-year-old boy and Isaac Sena were both treated at Plains Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. The details are still being gathered by investigators and at this time, neither driver will face punishment for the crash. Also, alcohol was not mentioned in the report so it was likely ruled out at the scene. We will keep you updated as the story develops.
