A hit-and-run in Albuquerque severed a woman’s foot.
According to the report, a woman and a man were standing outside their apartment complex just before the accident. Police aren’t sure if the act was malicious but the crash was violent with severe results. Authorities say only the woman was hurt and the ripped her foot from her body. Luckily, a woman was standing nearby and placed the woman’s foot in the freezer until police arrived. She also may have been the one to call the police, but that has not been confirmed. After a short time, the woman and her foot was taken to a hospital in Albuquerque where she underwent surgery.
The driver who caused the accident fled the scene without checking if the woman was okay. Since the crash happened in a residential area, police are gathering statements from residents who live there. Also, the man with the woman was likely questioned by police but those statements have not been released. Investigators are asking members of the community to assist police and taking this reckless driver off the street. If you have information, call or visit your local police station.
