Person Died in Rio Rancho from Collapsed 5-Story Scaffolding
A five-story scaffolding unexpectedly collapsed at a Rio Rancho, New Mexico construction site earlier this week. One person was killed and several others critically injured. It’s unclear what caused five floors of scaffolding to collapse at the Presbyterian Hospital Rust Medical Center.
McCarthy Building Companies is the contractor who was working at the site. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is now investigating the collapse, and work on the site has been suspended indefinitely.
Investigators are working to determine a cause for the collapse.
Workplace accident laws in the State of New Mexico are meant to protect employees from these types of accidents and compensate victims when things go wrong. If you or a family member are a victim of a workplace injury or even death, you should contact an experienced attorney right away. It is critical that investigations begin immediately while the accident scene is still in tact and while the memories of those involved are still fresh.
In a case like this, there could be multiple parties who hold liability for the tragic workplace accident.
