Taos Police release a report about a traffic accident on Salazar Road and Ranchitos Road.
According to the report, a truck crashed into the back of a motorcycle at the intersection of Salazar and Ranchitos. The report didn’t say if the motorcycle was stopped at a light, but we know speed was a factor. Taos police are also trying to determine what led to the crash. Alcohol was not mentioned in the report so it was likely ruled out at the scene. However, officers have not been able to establish what distracted the driver.
The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the driver of the truck was unharmed. It’s unclear if the driver of the truck will face criminal charges in the future, but at this time, everyone was allowed to leave. Salazar Road and Ranchitos Road are now open and for travel. Check back for updates on the story as it develops.
Intersections all across New Mexico are the most dangerous spot for drivers, slow down and be careful on your daily travels.
