Albuquerque Police released a report about a DWI crash that occurred on 98th and Tower.
Police was called to the scene after a car driven by Tempest Collins ran a red light and smashed into a car containing three people. The crash was violent and severe and left the three people in the car seriously injured. Paramedics were called to the scene and arrived after a short time. Once there and police safely secured the scene, EMTs transported the injured victims to the hospital.
Investigators were able to conclude that Tempest Collins was drunk at the time of the crash. After a series of questions, she admitted to officers that she had about three beers before driving. Police arrested Collins at the scene on three counts of great bodily harm. Also, she was above the legal driving limit for alcohol consumption so she was arrested for a DUI. She is still in jail waiting to see a judge. We will provide updates as they are released by police.
