Albuquerque Police released a report containing detail about a car accident at Aztec and Valle Alto.
The report state two vehicles were turning into the intersection of Aztec and Vall Alto Ct prior to the crash. Police believe one of the drivers became distracted while in the intersection leading to the crash. Both drivers were injured, but coherent enough to call 911. Emergency personnel responded to the crash relatively quick and set to work. Both drivers were treated by EMTs and were both taken to the hospital for further treatment. Neither of the drivers had life-threatening injuries.
At this time, the crash is still under investigation and police did not give an official cause. After talking to the drivers involved they were able to rule out impairment as a cause of the crash. It is likely, neither driver will face criminal punishment for the crash or receive a citation. However, this is subject to change as information is processed and released by officers.
