Albuquerque police say two people were injured in a four-car crash on the westbound lanes of I-40.
According to the report, the four vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes of I-40 prior to the crash. Police did not say what happened, but it is believed one of the drivers lost control of their vehicle. Of the four vehicles, only two people were injured. Emergency personnel was called and arrived at the scene shortly. Police partially blocked the road between 12th street and Rio Grande Blvd while wreckage crews cleared the scene.
One of the injured parties was taken to the UNMH in critical condition and the other was transported with non-life threatening injuries. Police at the scene conducted the investigation but did not release an official cause. Since there were many drivers involved, it will likely be some time before the evidence is processed.
