The APD is still looking to identify the pedestrian who was struck by a car on 98th and Avalon.
According to the report, a pedestrian was walking on the side of the road near 98th street and Avalon Rd. As of now, not much is known about what happened. Investigators don’t think the crash was intentional but an accident. The vehicle struck a pedestrian who was pushed at least 5 feet from their original spot. Police and emergency personnel responded to calls about the accident and arrived quickly. Paramedics started to work on the pedestrian, but the wounds were too severe and they died at the scene.
The report didn’t mention if the other driver sustained injuries. Also, the report didn’t mention alcohol so it was likely ruled out at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was not cited or arrested at the scene while the investigation is underway. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward and assist police. Since this was a fatality crash, it will take longer for evidence to be processed and released. We will stay updated with the story and will let you know as the situation changes.
We offer our condolences to the family of the person that died. We hope they can be identified and their family can heal.
