Albuquerque Fire Department released a report about a crash on Gibson Blvd at Madeira Dr.
The report stated the AFD was the first to respond to the crash. When they arrived, they assisted both drivers involved until other emergency personnel arrived. When officers with the APD and paramedics arrived at the scene, they set to work. While officers conducted the investigation, EMTs provided treatment to those injured. The report didn’t say how bad the injuries were or if anyone was taken to the hospital. Luckily, the injuries were minor and all involved parties will live.
Officers were not able to determine the exact cause of the crash. However, they were able to rule out recklessness, impairment, and road rage at the scene. After so many collisions at and near intersections, police believe it may be multiple factors involved. It will likely take the Crash Reconstruction Unit of the APD a while to gather all the details. When they release the full report, we will provide updates on the crash. Neither of the drivers involved will face punishment for the crash, however, a civil suit is still on the table.
We wish those involved a quick recovery and hope the person responsible face consequences for their actions.
